The Best Beer in the World is my third book. It's a mix of first-person travelogue, reference book and travel guide to the greatest beers in the world.
The book is inspired by how often I was asked the question: "What's the best beer in the world?" or "What's your favourite beer?" or "What's the best beer you've ever tasted?" I didn't know how to respond to any of those questions, so I travelled the world in search of the answers.
I lived with monks in Belgium, I travelled to south Brazil to go to the second-largest Oktoberfest in the world, I drank the cheapest beer in the world, I searched for the biggest-selling beer in the world, I brewed my own beer in my mate's kitchen, I went IPA hunting in California, I experienced the rivalry between Dusseldorf and Cologne, I tested beer's biggest truism by tasting Guinness in Ireland, and I visited some of the most important breweries in the world to tell their stories - Sierra Nevada, Pilsner Urquell, Budweiser, Cantillon, and more, all in the search for the best beers in the world. The book also includes around 25 city guides plus a look at topics like the history of IPA and British cask ales.
