Had no idea about the whiskey list. That is seriously impressive: http://www.thelexington.co.uk/bourbonmaltjerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14630431090396840227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8717216232742676074.post-35881582523815447632011-11-29T15:13:20.934+00:002011-11-29T15:13:20.934+00:00The social implications of various drinks is inter...The social implications of various drinks is interesting - I'm not sure that beer is inherently more social, but rather has more social relevance to you and your friends - you all like beer and shooting the breeze, it feels natural, and a departure from that is out of the comfort zone - especially as you also know how much a beer costs and how long it takes you to drink, which creates an element of control. The shot of Vodka you mention would be more conducive to dancing, and a bottle of wine better suited to sharing, which my be considered more sociable and appealing by some.
Having said that, everyone looks silly drinking from martini glasses, and beer is always best in a pub/bar setting. I think you missed out on the sherry though.
As a further point - do you think there are many people who are regular wine, spirit or lager drinkers doing the reverse of what you did and having an 'ale night' or 'craft night' every now and then?Matt Stokeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07896563222469012163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8717216232742676074.post-7861764064695463402011-11-29T12:12:51.337+00:002011-11-29T12:12:51.337+00:0050 bourbons—I don't think I could find a place...50 bourbons—I don't think I could find a place around me with 50 bourbons!
